Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAURENCE ARTHUR CONVEY On Tuesday, August 12, 2003 Laurence passed away peacefully at his home in Winnipeg. Laurence was born in Winnipeg on June 3, 1911. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Evelyn Dorothy (Keeler) and by his parents, Arthur and Mabel (Ringrose) Convey. His entire working career was spent with the C.N.R. After retiring he was a member of the CN Vets, holding the office of president. As a sports fan, Laurence enjoyed hockey, baseball and football. He took a keen interest in the Blue Bombers and was looking forward to the Ottawa-Winnipeg game. Actively participating in a Polo Park bowling league, Laurence rarely missed a game and was always interested in his score. Laurence was a faithful member of Westworth United. He enjoyed socializing with the ACES at the church and brought cheer to others as he delivered Meals On Wheels. Dorothy and Laurence possessed musical talents which they so willingly shared. Laurences generous, kindly ways and keen sense of humour will be remembered by his family and many friends. Laurence is survived by his sister-in-law Pearl Day; cousins - the Convey, Lenfesty, Potter, Ringrose and Sleeman families; and by nieces and nephews - the Bolton, Day and Haney families. Viewing and committal service will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 9:30 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A service and reception to celebrate Laurences life will follow at Westworth United Church, Grosvenor at Lanark, at 11:00 a.m. As an expression of sympathy for those who wish, donations in memory of Laurence may be made to the Westworth United Church Piano Fund, 1750 Grosvenor Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3N 0H9 or to a charity of ones choice.
